Disposal Guidelines for the Residents of the Borough of Edinboro

Contacting us:  For your convenience, our Customer Service Department is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Service representatives will answer any questions about your service, bulk items, etc. If you phone after hours, you may leave a voice mail message and your call will be returned the next business day.

Unlimited curb service:  Place your cans or bags along with recyclables at the curb before 7:00 AM on your collection day. Unlimited curb service is per individual residential unit. Residents may place as many cans or bags at the curb as necessary. Containers should be within 5 feet of the curb or roadway but should not impede pedestrian or vehicular traffic. Bag garbage before placing it in cans.

Containers should be watertight, metal or plastic, with tight fitting covers and handles. Each container shall have a maximum of no more than 30-gallons or plastic bags with a total weight not to exceed 40 pounds. Bag garbage before placing in your container. Don't forget--liquids freeze and stick to containers. Our collection personnel will not reach down into cans to retrieve material that is stuck or frozen in the can. Bags must be tied shut before placing at the curb.

Do Not use paper bags, cardboard boxes or 55-gallon drums as garbage receptacles. Items placed out in this manner will not be collected! We assume no liability for replacement of plastic cans.

Identification:  Clearly identify your street number on your mailbox or some type of permanent marker near the road. If this is not feasible, please put your street number on your garbage containers. It's important to make the containers visible to the driver. In winter months, don't forget to remove snow from the area where you will place your containers.
